    Job Summary:

    Position Emphasis

    Key Responsibilities:

    OGC Pre-Award Support & Customer Service (45%)

    • Serve as the point of contact for the OGC PreAward unit. Monitor department communication and route emails accordingly.

    Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure (30%)

    • Serve as the institution's point of contact for verification of financial conflict of interest disclosures on applicable grant applications in which the sponsor has a disclosure requirement.

    • Educate the department staff/PI on the potential implications of the COI policy on their grant applications.

    National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) Review (10%)

    • Review annual reports submitted by the department for sponsor compliance including COI, effort, unobligated balances, and other support documentation) and route to signing authority.

    e-Commerce Account Management (5%)

    • Serve as institutional point of contact for the creation and maintenance of ~~~, NIH Commons, and other sponsor accounts.

    • Monitor and maintain all electronic accounts and passwords for the institution by utilizing a central account software and system.

    National Institutes of Health (NIH) Final Invention Submission (5%)

    • Review NIH Final Invention Submission checking against available resources to confirm accuracy and submit to sponsor as required.

    Website Updates (5%)

    • Administer website updates for pre-award team.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, public administration, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

    • One year of professional level experience in grants administration, clinical research, contracts or project management at a higher education institution, government agency, public health, research, non-profit, or similar organization.

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with InfoEd Proposal Development System or similar grant submission software.

    • Experience in budget development and/or review.

    • Prior higher education experience.

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

    The Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) is responsible for the central administration of research awards and provides service to principal research investigators and administrators for the purpose of obtaining and administering extramural funds in compliance with university and sponsor guidelines. University of Colorado has a large portfolio of sponsored research with great variety, including Federal NIH grants, Federal NSF grants, many other Federal grants, Federal contracts, State grants, State contracts, private industry clinical trials, association grants and much more. This is a PreAward Coordinator position in the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC). The position provides grant proposal support for CU Denver | CU Anschutz Medical Campus faculty and facilitates the review of proposals and proposal related actionable items from sponsors. The PreAward Coordinator provides information and training to administrative unit personnel and Principal Investigators (PIs) on grants and sponsored project issues as needed. This position also serves as a liaison between funding agencies, administrative units, and PIs.

    The starting hiring range for this position has been established as: $53,000 - $57,000 per year The above salary range () represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
