Required Skills:

Research Scientist, Meta AI (PhD) Responsibilities:

1. Perform research to tackle unsolved real-world problems and push state of the art retrieval augmented generation (RAG) techniques.

2. Independently design and implement algorithms, train SOTA models on large data, evaluate their performance, and launch to production.

3. Drive applied research that can be applied to Meta product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

2. Currently has or is in the process of completing a PhD in the field of Artificial Intelligence, a related field. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

3. Research experience in one or more of these areas: NLP, speech, machine learning, deep learning, or related fields.

4. Experience with development and implementation of LLM algorithm/systems and model training.

5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

6. Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks.

7. Experience working with machine learning libraries like Pytorch.

8. Familiar with scripting languages such as Python and shell scripts.

9. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

1. Direct experience in generative AI and RAG research, and taking the solutions to production.

2. First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL).

3. Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.

4. Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.

Public Compensation:

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
