    Responsibilities

    Our Neurovascular Research Program is seeking a Research MD Fellow to join our team! The candidate will work on research projects related to stroke anesthesia vascular diseases or trauma. The candidate will be involved in the basic and translational research projects that utilize pre-clinical models cell-culture archived de-identified human and animal tissues and other techniques. In addition the candidate will be required to attend training courses on Animal Care Use of Radioisotopes and other subjects that are pertinent to the research projects. In addition to the seminars hosted by Hashimoto lab the candidate will participate in St. Joseph's Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute courses. There will be no direct patient contact.

    J-1 research scholars will perform tasks that are consistent with Dignity's J1 "Research Scholar" programs. The specificity of the tasks will be determined by Dignity Health. Under the J-1 program, a research scholar may stay in the U.S. for up to five years. However, Dignity has complete discretion of determining the exact length of any J-1 research scholar's stay in the U.S., including the initial period of stay and whether there will be any subsequent extension. The J1 scholar will engage in laboratory research under the direction and guidance of a faculty member, developing skills necessary for success as an independent investigator.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required

    Experience

    Laboratory research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study

    Beyond minimum requirements, experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline

    Education

    MD degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor

    Special Skills

    Basic computer skills, Familiar with mathematical, scientific reasoning. Solid oral and written communication skills

    Training

    Relevant medical specialization

    Technical and/or conceptual expertise in a relevant field

    Pay Range

    $19.73 - $27.13 /hour
