    Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse's license to practice in state where center is located and one year's experience as a practicing Registered Nurse

    Bachelor's degree. Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse's license to practice in state where center is located and two years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse

    In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.

    Knowledge of nursing practices/procedures. Ability to relate effectively to student population. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to carry out instructions with minimal supervision.

    Assists in the medical care and treatment of students.

    MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:

    1. Assists students in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by acting as a positive role model and mentor.

    1. Ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner with the highest degree of customer service in mind.

    1. Adheres to all PRH and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.

    1. Prepares reports and forms and documents in CIS Health and Wellness and case notes.

    1. Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.

    1. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.

    1. Ensures equipment and assigned work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD, and DOL standards, including conducting quarterly property counts, submitting property relocation requests, may serve as a property custodian, and submits maintenance requests as needed.

    1. Takes and records vital signs.

    1. Works with Health Wellness team to conduct daily sick calls.

    1. Monitors chronic health care plans.

    1. Provides health education and health information during treatment.

    1. Promotes a healthy lifestyle for students.

    1. Provides first aid or CPR as needed.

    1. Administers specified medication as per State Scope of Practice for RNs and Pharmacy Act and annotates time and amount on patient's chart per standing orders. Observes students and report adverse reactions to medication to Health Services Administrator/Manager.

    1. Assembles and uses various medical equipment.

    1. Responsible for Compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control procedures

    1. Assists in physicals of all new trainees.

    1. Completes requisitions for medical supplies as required.

    1. Places requests for prescription medications per Physician/PA orders.

    1. Maintains Student Health Records and documents all health-related concerns, activities, services in the student's health record.

    1. Performs duties of Acting Health and Wellness Manager as needed

    1. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    ENIVORNMENTAL DEMANDS CHECKLIST:
