    Seasonal PRN Registered Nurse CVICU

    Shift: Nights, 7:00pm - 7:00am

    Pay Rate: $52/hr.

    Seasonal Program Requirements – Seasonal PRN Status with a Full-Time Schedule – Program Runs 8/25/24-4/5/25

    • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
    • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
    • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period
    • During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
    • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
    • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy
    • Seasonal Staff will 

      not 

      be eligible for extra shift bonuses
    • Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation
    • Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible

       to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year
    • Current employees of HWS are 

      not eligible

       for the seasonal program
    • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Our Registered Nurses raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. Our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit RNs provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions to include post op CABGs, CAEs, thoracotomies, CRRT and Impella’s. The CVICU patient tends to have multiple simultaneous drips and various methods of monitoring hemodynamics occurring. We are an amazing team, that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you, who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

    What You Will Do In This Role:

    • You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols. 
    • You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
    • You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies. 
    • You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice. 

    What Qualifications You Will Need: 

    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional nursing 
    • Associate Degree required, BSN is required within 24 months of hire
    • Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license 
    • Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
    • Current ACLS issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
    • CCRN preferred
    • Experience with high acuity ICU medical/surgical patients highly preferred
    • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Critical Care in an acute care hospital within the last 3 years required, prefer 2 or more years of experience
