Summary
The Regional Operations Manager ensures that the equipment and facilities at each of the Simplot Grower Solutions locations is in top working condition to deliver on-time services and delivery. And ensures that safety of all people and the environment is top priority throughout Simplot Grower Solutions network.
The preferred candidate will reside within Simplot Grower Solutions Western Canada trade area . Alberta : Cardston, Chin, Pincher Creek; Saskatchewan : Brock, Eatonia, Elrose, Hamlin, Kindersley, Leader, Lucky Lake, Marengo, Meadow Lake, Medstead, Meota, Milden, Plenty, Rosetown, Spiritwood
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Capital Asset Manager
Fleet and asset management throughout the Business Unit overseeing equipment distribution and usage at locations.
Maintain a current working knowledge of all facilities and equipment at each Simplot Grower Solutions location.
Work with each location to develop business needs for capital improvements.
Collaborate with Executive Team to develop a 1-3-5-year capital plan.
Health, Safety and Security Compliance
Coordinates, manages, and communicates operational, environmental, safety, security, legal and risk management strategies, and activities to ensure performance and compliance. Provides training for administrative and operations teams within assigned area to achieve operational excellence for both internal and external customers.
Develop and implement orientation process for new employees and integrate with other orientation activities in cooperation with Management Team.
Ensure employees are current in training required.
Establish safety policies and procedures for Simplot Grower Solutions.
Ensure employees and location compliance to Simplot Grower Solutions policy on Health & Safety matters.
Perform random inspections of workplace and environment at all Simplot Grower Solutions sites and report findings to Management Team.
Establish a process to bring locations back into compliance when they are not.
Ensure WCB requirements are met.
Keep all records and reports for all compliance circumstances.
Develop emergency response plan, in cooperation with Management Team.
Keep current on all regulations from all key regulatory bodies.
Insurance Manager
Oversee the development of an annual insurance plan for Simplot Grower Solutions within the Business Unit.
Ensure all insurance is up to date and that all employees, facilities, and equipment meets insurance standards.
Ensure all regulatory licences are up to date and current.
Repair and Maintenance
Develop schedules for all in-house and external repair and maintenance of fixed equipment.
Develop and implement an auditable system for maintenance and repairs.
Oversee required repair and maintenance on all rolling equipment.
Oversee required repair and maintenance on fixed assets within the plants, and fertilizer systems.
Management Team Member
Attend and actively participate in Management Team meetings.
Provide appropriate reports for meetings as suggested by Management Team Chair members.
Prepare for Management Team meetings with appropriate review of agenda and materials.
Facilitate team meetings when requested by Management Team Chair.

Expectations in addition to Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Simplot Grower Solutions has worked hard to be known for our in-season services and lack of down time in facilities and equipment is a large part of that. Also, we have an increasing need to place high priority on safety of all people and the environment. With the recent increase in locations in our network, this position needs to keep these requirements foremost in its priorities and ensure we move forward.
Retail locations are the primary profit centers for Simplot Grower Solutions. Ensuring Operations can run their locations as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Align with Business Unit Director on evolving new culture.
Primary support for team members in aligning with evolving new culture.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Market Managers, Location Operations Managers, and Location Operations.

Skills: Ability to effectively manage people, assets, and the shipping and receiving of necessary products in order to support the Sales function.
Ability to manage inventory control functions to control inventory loss.
Typical Education
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
A 2-year diploma and extensive industry experience will be considered.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role.
Physical Demands
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Agri-industry hours - overtime, as required
