Regional EH&S Manager

Position Overview

As the Regional Manager of Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety, you will successfully integrate EHS into the functional operation of the business by implementing systems, processes and procedures to prevent injuries to our associates and minimize the environmental impact of our operations. The ultimate goal is to achieve zero harm to our employees and those affected by our business operations.

• Provide regional and local leadership while partnering with operational business functions to enable efficient knowledge transfer of key skills to managers, supervisors and employees

• Build effective programs to ensure that all operations are fully compliant with Federal, State and local laws

• Implement a comprehensive total facility audit process to maintain regulatory compliance, ensure continuous improvement and facilitate the transfer of best practices across the business

• Develop and implement regional and local initiatives that provide effective solutions to current, and anticipate, the changing business needs to build and sustain a world-class safety culture

• In conjunction with the business, develop annual safety plans which adequately budget for, and address, the changing needs of the business.

• Manage and report on established company metrics while developing appropriate regional and local metrics which add value to the operations.

• Continually seek opportunities to improve the knowledge and skill of the facility managers/supervisors to improve systems and positively impact the safe operations of the business

• Actively participate on both Corporate and local Safety Committee and weekly Workers Compensation conference calls.

• Warehouse : Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)

• Warehouse : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Skills

• Specialized Knowledge : ASP/CSP designations preferred, or actively pursuing such designations, as well as current participation in a professional association or professional development program.

• Special Skills : -Strong management, organizational and communication skills - Proven track record of success through the development of multiple, meaningful, interpersonal relationships through the ability to influence, and skill to coach all levels of the facility - Highly motivated with ability to work independently in a fast paced, multi-location environment - Excellent verbal and written skills as well as proficiency with EHS technology solutions, Microsoft Office Software and data management systems
