  • Meaningful Work From Day One:

    The Regional Commercial Counsel - Americas will oversee legal matters for the B-F Americas Commercial organization, providing strategic, transactional, and corporate legal advice.

    What You Can Expect:

    Commercial & Corporate Legal Advice

    • Support the commercial teams by providing legal advice and support related to the importation, distribution, marketing and sales of the Company's beverage alcohol product portfolio in the Americas. Tasks generally will include drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting importation, distribution, and other commercial agreements and arrangements. Provide advice and training related to commercial competition matters and commercial matters.

    • Manage Senior Legal Counsel- Mexico Commercial to effectively support commercial teams in providing legal advice, including: advising on antitrust and competition law matters, with a particular focus on best-in-class compliance training, retailer and supplier management, corporate maintenance, governance, risk management and anti-bribery, other corporate-led projects as they arise

    • Oversee legal participation in divisional commercial projects in addition to day-to-day tasks (e.g., RTCs and own distribution projects, implementation of Corporate Development projects across the region etc.).

    • Intercompany agreements: coordinating with various internal teams, reviewing draft intercompany agreements and ensuring we have intercompany agreements in place where needed. Provide general corporate legal advice and support related to North and South America corporate subsidiaries. Draft and review corporate resolutions and approvals as needed.

    Compliance & Data Privacy

    • Partner with the Compliance Team to provide legal oversight of the Company's activities, policies, business practices, and transactions in the region to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Contribute to existing strong compliance culture by providing compliance-related training and implementing compliance-related processes, procedures and controls.

    • Will partner with the Legal Counsel for Global Privacy in overseeing compliance with data privacy regulations in the Americas and assist the sales teams in understanding the global implications.

    Regulatory

    • Assist with regulatory matters specifically related to beverage alcohol manufacture, marketing and sales in North and South American markets.

    • Monitor for legal issues and/or regulatory changes that could impact the Company's business operations

    • Retain and manage outside counsel as needed.

    What You Bring To The Table:

    • JD from an accredited law school and admission to the bar either in the US, or other (other qualifications will be considered).

    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience in a private law firm and/or corporate legal department.

    • Experience with US-based or global corporate clients.

    • Comprehensive understanding of commercial matters and related legal practice experience, including supply chain, distribution, pricing, marketing, sales, financing, etc.

    • Firm understanding of US and national competition law frameworks and their practical application to commercial questions.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions that both promote business goals and respect the legal environment.

    • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts.

    • Strong business sense and ability to work as a partner with business clients.

    • Highest quality oral and written communication skills, including in particular, communicating complex legal issues to non-lawyers.

    • Persuasive presentation and counseling skills, with demonstrated ability to make and defend firm, well-reasoned recommendations.

    • Collegial, positive attitude; self-starter.

    • Project management experience; ability to supervise and manage outside counsel relationships.

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize conflicting demands from multiple business partners in a very fast-paced environment.

    • Enthusiasm to learn and develop beverage alcohol industry-related expertise.

    What Makes You Unique
