Description:
Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area, specifically reading instruction.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45AM - 4:45PM
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.

- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
- Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
- Prepares applicable students for entry into HSE/HSD programming.
- Prepares applicable students for required TABE testing and assisting with required 60 hours of instruction within mandated time frames.
- Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESP's) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested.
- Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
- Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
- Meets individually with student assigned to their area responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes.
- Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
- Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
- Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for.
- Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
- Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions and monthly student evaluations.
- Assists Manager during scheduled inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum
- Postsecondary Degree. State Teaching Certification is required.
Preferred
- One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth.
Knowledge: Knowledge of required subject area, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
Compensation details: 66560-75000 Yearly Salary
