  • Overview:

    As our CT Technologist at CHI St. Francis Health

    you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions. 

    Every day you could perform any variety of imaging examinations such as

    x-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, to name a few. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience. 

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing precise results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

    Responsibilities:

    The Radiologic Technologist performs any combination of MRI, CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasonography, or X-Ray Imaging procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

    Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    1. Pass the Computed Tomography ARRT exam within twelve months of hire date, if not already acquired
    2. Perform general radiographic procedures with the correct positioning, and technique to obtain a diagnostic radiograph.
    3. Perform Fluoroscopic, Portable and C-arm procedures with the proper positioning techniques to obtain a diagnostic image.
    4. Practice infection control for the patient and Technologist safety.
    5. Routinely apply sterile techniques and quality safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself.
    6. Perform Radiographic exams safely in regards to radiation protection (ALARA)
    7. Hyper-sensitivity in monitoring radiation exposure time and activity
    8. Perform QC, QA

    Qualifications:

    Required

    AAS Radiologic Technologist (RT) degree from accredited program

    ARRT Registered

    Must be able to perform all aspects of general radiography, fluoroscopy including ER and c-arm

    Preferred

    Radiologic Technology experience
