  • Eaton's Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $52499.97 - $76999.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

    What you'll do:

    Position Overview:

    In this position, the Quality Technician will be responsible for leading the Jackson, MI plant in performing inspection, testing and verification of material, product, equipment, gaging and processes. They will provide technical support to manufacturing operations, customers, suppliers, and engineering. They will perform CMM and layout inspections as necessary using Zeiss Calypso software and also ensure that calibration system is fully compliant to AS9100 standard, Nadcap requirements, and customer PO requirements.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Completes layout projects and calibration requirements with minimal supervision.

    • Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for production inspection equipment.

    • Support engineering group with dimensional/layout data for failure analysis, qualification testing, ProLaunch projects, and customer requirements.

    • Provide backup to the calibration process & gage recall system and related processes including but not limited to quoting, purchasing, receipt, identification, calibration, maintenance, and vendor oversight on all internal and external IM&TE (Inspection, Measurement, & Test Equipment) within the site's calibration & gage recall system.

    • Support manufacturing group with dimensional/layout data for production, DMR data analysis, ProLaunch projects, and customer requirements.

    • Manage project workflow and backlog to insure 100% OTD.

    • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.

    • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure these documents align with the recognized Aerospace Quality System Standard as well as Eaton Objectives, Policies and Procedures.

    • Supports organization with dimensional layouts and interpretation of results for production, Failure Analysis, qualification testing, DMR (Discrepant Material Report), NPD (New Program Development) projects, Root Cause Corrective Actions, and compliance to customer requirements (as required).

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required

    • Hands on GD&T experience required

    • Zeiss CMM experience required

    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).     • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

    • Calypso Software (highly preferred)analytical skills.

    • Experience working within diverse cultures & groups.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.

    • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).

    • Knowledge of standard manufacturing process, machining, metal forming, assembly/test in an Aerospace environment.

    • Experience with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

    • Experience with UAW contract and following proper protocol.
