    Job Summary

    Ensure that all products shipped to the consumer meet or exceed the consumer's expectations. Reporting of audit findings in a professional and accurate manner to facilitate improvement in quality, productivity and safety. Executes part verification (supplier PPAP/FAIR/RMO). Owns part qualification and part quality containments. Perform technical functions within the Quality Assurance Department providing the Quality with technical information for all aspects of the product manufacturing cycle.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Auditing----Audit various process characteristics per specification plans, may include but is not limited to: Receiving/Shipping inspection of raw materials, WIP, Quarantined inventory, Re-worked components or assemblies, Finish Goods audits.

    • Perform sort of non-conforming materials as required by using AS400/MAPCIS system.

    • Prepare RMO's, shipping orders and order supplies for QA Lab as necessary.

    • PPAP---Assist in Verification of materials and parts, assuring that they meet written specifications within established tolerances by using QMS Reliance PPAP.

    • Work with measuring and production tools and maintain quality inspection equipment as necessary.

    • Training---Cross train in other quality positions to back-up or assist other quality personnel as necessary.

    • Challenge nonconforming product using proper chain of command and hold tag procedures. Provide help with rework projects as the quality inspector for all completed rework.

    • Maintain or input quality data/files as required. May include but is not limited to: MRB QMS sheets, QA files, PPAP, Audit results, FAIR's, RMO's, Deviations, DPU, FTQ, IPP100

    • Communicate to appropriate personnel any necessary issues, findings, etc.

    • Provide input into improving existing inspection procedures and actively participate in the PCI process.

    • Work in safe and healthy manner, strictly following all safety rules and regulations.

    • Perform duties outside assigned area, as required.

    • Make necessary recommendations for process improvements.

    • Communicate with multiple suppliers

    • Support departments as needed to identify, contain, and resolve product and component issues. Report on issues and progress to Quality Engineer and others as appropriate.

    • Perform dimensional verifications on all in-house and vendor components utilizing various measuring devices including but not limited to: Calipers, micrometers, height gauges, White light scanner, Hardness Tester.

    • Perform geometric measurements on components utilizing measuring devices and be able to interpret output data.

    • Facilitate Supplier component qualifications through the QMS/Reliance system.

    • Execute dimensional verification on components or product using other means of dimensional verification such as CAD and digitizing techniques.

    • Perform work assignments per supervisor's instruction and work schedule.

    • Assist supervisor in meeting departmental work schedules and company quality standards.

    • Maintain OSHA compliance and corporate safety standards within department and company.

    • Maintain current technical skills on all technical measuring devices as required.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Lead Kaizen teams and support/maintain 5-Pillar objectives within the Quality Assurance Department.

    Skills, Experience, & Education

    • Must have a working knowledge ofPC software programs(i.e. MS-wordprocessing,spreadsheets,database,Email) including the ability to enter and retrievedataand AS 400.

    • Must be familiar with GD&T parts,tolerances,dimensions, variousinspection equipment, and quality terminology.

    • Must have a performance history of quality conscious work, good attendance and safe work habits.

    • One-year experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers,calipers, height gauges, etc.) required.

    • Must have experience and a strong working knowledge of the production area this position is assigned to support.

    • Must have strongoraland written communication skills.

    • Must be able to manage conflict and solve problems independently.

    • Must have demonstratedorganizationaland leadership skills.

    • Must be responsible, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and able to work with minimum supervision.

    • High School (High school diploma) Diploma or equivalent required.

    • Technical (Trades certificate / diploma) diploma or equivalent training preferred.
