    We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Supervisor for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Quality Programs Manager, ensures that Quality Control Inspectors including NDE Technicians, Gauge Lab Technicians and Incoming Inspection personnel are qualified, certified, trained and have the necessary skills to perform the inspections needed to ensure that BWXT Canada products meet all the requirements for the company QA programs, procedures and customer specifications. There are QC shop personnel that report directly to this job.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Training & Re-certification

    • Coordinate and conduct training, organize and conduct certification testing and re-certification.

    Supervision and Work Schedule

    • Ensure that inspectors work safely and efficiently and in compliance with company safety regulations.

    • Maintain discipline and monitor performance of employees.

    • Schedule manpower assignments to ensure productivity. Organize overtime requirements.

    Monitor Gauge Lab

    • Oversee operation of the Gauge Lab, coordinate calibrations for master gauges, distribute and monitor responses for overdue calibration reports, issue certificates of calibration to customers and auditors as required as well as issue and address Deviation Calibration Reports.

    Internal/External QC Inspectors & Candidates

    • Evaluate internal/external QC inspectors and candidates including NDE Technicians, determine suitability, monitor and maintain performance of inspectors and inspector candidates through conducting interviews, administer and grade tests as well as ensure they remain independent of manufacturing on all relating to quality.

    Reporting Methods

    • Develop and maintain inspection reports and/or checklists for inspectors to facilitate, design and record complex inspection activities.

    Support Inspection Process

    • Support the inspection process in Operations, issue deficiency reports, assist with interpretation of drawings, procedures, acceptance standards and product acceptability as well as deal with and resolve Customer Inspector concerns.

    Represent Quality Control

    • Issue monthly reports to department managers, attend and represent Quality Control in interdepartmental meetings, Continuous Process Improvement teams, participate in RCA investigations as well as evaluate new inspection processes to ensure they are adequate.

    • Inform manufacturing supervision and department managers of quality issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • College diploma is preferred.

    • Technician/Technologist certificate preferably in a related field (Engineering, QC, QA, Welding, NDE).

    • Five years experience in Quality Control, preferably at a supervisory level.

    • Knowledge of fitting, welding or fabrication.

    • Superior computer and communication skills.

    The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[78,000]] and $[[121,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
