    Quality Control Inspector

    Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.

    Overview:

    Candidates in this position are responsible for helping to maintain product quality by performing final inspection of finished products, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards, specifications, and regulations.

    Summary: Inspects product at various stages of assembly to ensure that machines are free of any defects or assembly errors before they ship to the customer.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Examine incoming materials for defective welds, flaws in pant, and flaws in cosmetic appearance per applicable standards or drawings.

    • Identify any errors in the received or assembled product from drawings or other inspection criteria.

    • Interacts with the Supplier Quality team to identify the source of errors or defects.

    • Participates in problem solving through root cause and corrective action process.

    • Measures parts and assemblies using Faro Arm. Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform the job.

    • Responsible for keeping area neat and orderly.

    • Keep daily records of serial numbers, metrics and measures, and other paperwork.

    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or equivalent.

    • Experience with or exposure to Vantage, Oracle or other business system for receiving of materials.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
    • Ability to read mechanical assembly and part drawings which are created using geometric dimension and tolerances GDT).
    • Proven traits in dependability, initiative, energy and proficient in time management.
    • Ability to write read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
    • Mechanical aptitude. Experience with machine assembly preferred.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Receptive to training and adaptable to change.

    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
