Purchasing Specialist

Description

Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist based in the North Brunswick, New Jersey area. This role involves managing purchasing operations for our organization and working closely with project managers and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage annual purchasing volume.

• Coordinate with 6 vendors to ensure optimal pricing and quality.

• Perform price matching and negotiate terms to secure cost-effective deals.

• Utilize Excel extensively for tracking, analysis, and reporting.

• Procure materials including fabric, laminate, and various supplies.

• Collaborate closely with 2 Project Managers and the sales team to align purchasing with project and sales objectives.

• Solely responsible for the entire purchasing process.

Requirements

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Experience with IBM AS/400

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Familiarity with About Time software

• Understanding of Buying Processes and Component Selection

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Experience in a Manufacturing environment

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to analyze market trends and apply insights to purchasing decisions

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively

• Excellent problem-solving skills.
