  • Purpose:

    The Psych Rehab Worker will join the team at the Psych Rehab Program- a small program that serves those with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses to aid in helping them work towards their recovery goals by providing services both individually and in group settings.

    The ideal hire for this position will have prior experience working in a direct care setting with clients who have serious and persistent mental health diagnoses. Psych rehab experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Prior experience using EPIC is also preferred. Must be able to independently manage a daily schedule and should be able to track caseload-specific areas, such as goal planning due dates. Will be responsible for running groups.

    This is a Monday through Friday daylight position, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The dress code is casual. Parking locations can be determined by connecting with the Parking Office to determine available lease options. The hire for this position will have the opportunity to obtain certification to become a Certified Psych Rehab practitioner (CPRP).

    Responsibilities:

    • Assists in development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of psychiatric rehabilitation group programming and psychosocial rehabilitation programming.

    • Participate in interagency and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Team/Staff meetings as required. Assist consumers with identification, linkage and access to mental health and community resources.

    • Maintains certification in First Aid/CPR and crisis management and responds appropriately in crisis situations.

    • Educate consumers, family members and other support persons on an on-going basis about the principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, problem solving strategies and the services delivery system.

    • Works individually and in groups with consumers referred for Rehabilitation Services, providing comprehensive services consisting of assessment, identifying goals, plan development, interventions, and evaluation of progress.

    • Provide direct mental health services to clients referred for Rehabilitation Services based on well-developed knowledge and understanding of psychiatric/mental health theory, principles of vocational rehabilitation, psychiatric rehabilitation, individual, group, and family counseling.

    • Maintains accuracy and completeness of consumer records in compliance with program standards and state standards.

    • Maintains all annual training topic and hour requirements as set forth in PR regulations.

    • A bachelor's degree

    o ORan associate degree and 1 year work experience in mental health direct service

    o OR a CPS certificate and 1 additional year paid or volunteer work experience in mental health direct service.

    o OR high school diploma or GED and 2 years work experience in human services which must include 1 year of mental health direct service.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

    • Driver's License
