Why Sentinel? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without any doubt, Sentinel is one of the DoD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. Sentinel is the Department of Defense s newest official program of record, and has achieved Milestone B. It enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project-the weapon system will deploy over a 9-year period beginning in about 2026, and remain operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career-defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply are not available with smaller projects.
Tell me about this job. The P2 Project Manager will support the Air Force s ICBM weapon system and Sentinel. These are long-term sustainment and acquisition programs which are anticipated to remain operational until 2075.
This individual is a P2 Project Manager providing technical expertise in Program Protection related efforts, and will actively contribute in the P2 team in performance of the day-to-day team responsibilities. They will work with other organizational leadership on priorities, fostering strong relationships, meeting business goals, and providing top notch support to our customer. This individual will also help build teamwork, communicate effectively (verbal & written), develop/enforce policies, and work with stakeholders (internal and external). This position provides the opportunity to develop and hone communication, customer relationship, and leadership skills while working with a close-knit fun-loving team of other P2 professionals.
This position works with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) supporting ICBM weapon systems, subsystems and supporting systems.
The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, and have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with the desire to make a difference. Knowledge and experience working with the DoD and/or Air Force policies and processes and is required.
The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Organizes and oversees technical performance on the contract and ensures delivery of required deliverables.
Communicate daily among stakeholders identifying and resolving problems and challenges.
Develop, review, comply with, and manage the P2 Plan, Security Classification Guides (SCGs), Anti-Tamper Plan, Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) Plan, Counter-Intelligence Plan, and other applicable documents.
Identify, develop, and implement efficiencies enhancing productivity and/or reduce overall contract costs to the government.
Serves as P2 technical advisor, consultant, and primary point of contact to the government P2 Program Manager (PM) providing training and oversight for P2 related activities.
Occasional travel (<=10%) is required for this position.
This position is located at 6008 Wardleigh Rd, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Due to the classified nature of the work, it is not conducive to full telework or remote schedules.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS in a STEM or Engineering degree.
10 years of experience in direct program management; or MS degree 8 years of experience.
Outstanding analytic and problem solving skills.
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision.
Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tiers.
Effective organizational, time management, and communications skills (written/verbal).
Strong communication skills (oral and written) commensurate with expected mid- to senior-level civilian and military participants from various U.S. Government agencies.
Able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative, and organize daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Solid background in DoD, Air Force, and MIL-STD Program Protection Instructions, Manuals, and requirements.
Experience developing external customer relationships and ability to communicate Program Protection concepts and requirements with senior leaders.
Knowledgeable in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) basics.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of / experience with any of the following: Security Classification, microelectronics, Nuclear Surety, Cybersecurity, System Safety, System-Theoretic Process Analysis for Security (STPA-Sec), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience with Air Force nuclear weapon systems, ICBM experience preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106654 - $181311

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
