    BAE Systems is seeking a motivated, self-driven, Project Manager- Instructional Designer for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). We are specifically looking for a highly skilled Instructional Designer to develop and implement training programs for our aerospace engineering team working on ICBM projects with the Digital Transformation Office. The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and a strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles.

    This role will be working directly with and providing leadership to experienced software development team, the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), in evolving an environment that aligns with DevSecOps and GitOps principles towards CI/CD, rapidly deploying web applications into various cloud platforms with a security mindset.

    This Project Manager position will support the DTO, responsible for supporting the development of next generation modeling and simulation software in support of the entire ICBM enterprise and an array of other software projects. You will be responsible for designing and developing instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and job aids. You will help drive a uniform technical and management approach that leverages advanced technologies to meet the requirements of stakeholders. This position will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical teams to gather and analyze content, creating engaging and effective training programs that meet the needs of the engineering team. You will evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments, ensure all training materials comply with industry standards and regulations, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

    The position is being filled as a part of the Future ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Construct (FISAC) under which BAE Systems augments organic government resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness, and ICBM Demonstration / Validation (Dem/Val) Integrated Applications Programs. This position will be located at or near Hill AFB, Utah.

    Why the DTO and Sentinel? The DTO supports an array of clients and transformational initiatives across the Air and Space Force. The Sentinel Program specifically is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without a doubt Sentinel is one of the DOD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead and remain operational until at least 2075.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    • 7 years of professional experience in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment. At least 3 years progressive responsibility providing technical leadership.

    • Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development

    • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS)

    • Strong project management and organizational skills

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Familiarity with aerospace engineering concepts and ICBM projects

    • Proficiency with Agile PM tools such as Atlassian JIRA/Confluence

    • Bachelor's or Master s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

    • Experience working in the aerospace or defense industry

    • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for aerospace engineering training

    • Certification in instructional design or related areas

    • DoD Secret Security Clearance

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range: $66400 - $112880

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
