  • We are looking for a Project Manager to work with clients and internal teams on testing and certification programs. Project Manager responsibilities include planning and controlling complex projects. Strong PM and communication skills are required. If you enjoy challenging work and helping teams meet their goals this could be the right role for you. PMP designation is considered an asset along with experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry.

    • Managing the implementation of small to medium projects.

    • Provides overall leadership and support to project team members.

    • Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.

    • Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly.

    • Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders, and with Finance and develops ROI, IRR and other financial measures.

    • Manages stakeholders' communication and escalates accordingly.

    • Adheres to program and project governance (controls).

    • Plans the overall project and monitors the progress and performs Daily project management throughout the project's life cycle.

    • Manages the projects budget and financial performance.

    • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.

    • Manages and utilizes resources.

    • Aligns the deliverables (outputs) to the project's outcome with the aid of the business change manager.

    • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

    • Performs other duties as directed.

    SKILLS

    • Strong project management and team leadership skills.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sponsor reporting and escalation experience.

    • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.

    • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.

    • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.

    • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.

    • Understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative).

    • In depth understanding of project management concepts.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Prior Project Management Experience.

    • Experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.).

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelors' degree in computer science, information technology, business or related field Prince 2 and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required).

    • Professional Project Manager (PMP) in good standing or ability to obtain the certification required.

    The salary range for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area is $76,500-$127,400 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position. The salary range for candidates in the Vancouver, WA area is $66,500-$110,800 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.

    All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation.  The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.  

    We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
