    About the Work Unit

    Statement

Vanderbilt Center for Computational Systems Biology (CCSB) is a transitional center between Vanderbilt University Basic Sciences, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the Vanderbilt College of Connected Computing that aims to leverage team science and computational biology to turn biomolecular data into actionable insights.

    Philosophy

The CCSB seeks to reinvent the concept of "team science" by creating a truly collaborative environment for computational scientists, cell biologists, and tissue engineers to work together seamlessly. Our goal is to instill quantitative and interdisciplinary thinking into the next generation of young scientists, where computational concepts are interwoven into biomedical research.

    Mission statement

At CCSB, we aim to understand complex biological systems, defined as systems of simultaneously changing and interacting parts, with the ability to reverse-engineer these systems synthetically.
