Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.
We are specifically looking for a hands-on, leader to build and led and mentor a Site Reliability Engineering team that spans multiple products and geographies. The successful candidate will integrate with engineering teams to drive reliability and efficiency through automation across 100s for regions. The primary role of this successful candidate is to ensure service excellence and enable the Worldwide SRE teams to achieve our internal Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and customer facing Service Level Agreements. The candidate will have 10+ years of experience operating Infrastructure as a Service products at the Hyperscaler scale. in addition to 5 plus years of experience building and leading a high-performance engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of SREs, providing guidance on best practices, processes, and career development.
Automation: Drive initiatives across multiple organizations to automate operational tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Reliability: Define and implement strategies for maintaining and improving system reliability and uptime.
Incident Management: Oversee incident response processes, ensuring quick resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
Monitoring and Metrics: Establish robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Capacity Planning: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to plan for capacity needs and scalability.
Collaboration: Work closely with software development teams to integrate reliability into the software development lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through post-mortem analyses and proactive recommendations.
Documentation: Ensure all systems, processes, and procedures are well-documented and up to date.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
8+ years of experience in software engineering, system administration, or site reliability engineering.
3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing SRE or DevOps teams.
Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and incident management systems (PagerDuty, Opsgenie).
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on team-building and mentorship.
Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
