Learn about NREL's critical objectives, and see how NREL is focused on saving the planet.This role is on the Sourcing and Subcontracts Team in our Office of the CFO (OCFO), a group tasked with supporting a variety of NREL's Technical Staff by providing full life-cycle subcontract administration for research & development, technical services, equipment & supply acquisition, and other services (design, installation, testing, etc.) as needed. In some cases, these actions will support the development and implementation of technology that is on the cutting edge of the current science that is being investigated.
The Subcontract Administrator directs and oversees the subcontracts and purchases necessary to fulfill the mission of the lab through their lifecycle. The Subcontract Administrator serves as the liaison between the NREL 'Customer' (i.e. the end user of the good/service), NREL Legal, NREL Finance, offerors and subcontractors. They serve as the main facilitator and negotiators for acquisitions, providing recommendations, record keeping, contract monitoring, change management and more. Subcontract Administrators of all levels complete purchases that cover a variety of industries/technical areas. Regardless of the technical area, the Subcontract Administrator is the primary individual responsible for the creation and management of all assigned acquisitions.

We are looking for someone who can execute a high standard of contract administration and contribute towards process and reporting improvements for the acquisition services. This role focuses on fast-paced and highly diverse set of challenges on a daily basis. The overall mission of the Sourcing and Subcontracts Team is to execute the requests of NREL Staff in a quick and efficient manner to successfully achieve the goals they are working toward. This service helps get NREL the best service or product for the best price to earn the reputation of being the most innovative lab that delivers quality work by promised milestone dates.
Basic QualificationsProfessional IV--Subcontracts Administration- Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience in supply chain, management, business, contracts administration or similar field. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience in supply chain, management, business, contracts administration or similar field. Or, relevant PhD and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience in supply chain, management, business, contracts administration or similar field. Or, relevant JD and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience in supply chain, management, business, contracts administration or similar field.

Job Profile: Professional III / Annual Salary Range: $73,200 - $120,800
NREL takes into consideration a candidate's education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
