The Opportunity
The Production Team Lead works out of our Scarborough, Maine location as part of Abbott's Infectious Disease Developed Markets (IDDM) Division.
The Production Team Lead assists the Production Supervisor in managing the daily activities of the production of Abbott products. Using their complete knowledge of the quality system, people management skills, and company policies and procedures, the Team Leader ensures that procedures are followed, non-conformance issues are elevated immediately, and that staff is performing at expected levels. They are responsible for maintaining the production schedules and complying with all manufacturing and quality standards.
What You'll Work On
Assisting the supervisor with daily management of the production line/cell, including but not limited to:
Scheduling of product builds and tracking of scrap.
Verification and routing of product, verification of traceability, and providing tooling to operators.
Implementation of new processes.
Training new employees in procedures, equipment, and safety.
Ensuring policy and procedure adherence.
Preventing accidents by enforcing safety measures.
Preventing quality incidents through proactive measures.
Reporting and verifying daily metrics, including but not limited to first pass yield, productivity, volume, yield, scrap, attendance, safety incidents, and process audit metrics.
Ensuring that processes are being followed and adhered to at all times by monitoring sta ff and metrics. Holding meetings with the team to discuss variations and issu es as they arise.
Elevating quality issues immediately when they occur. Having the ability and responsibility to stop the line immediately when non-conformance quality issues are identified and to immediately communicate with the supervisor all quality deviations.
Reconciling metrics and handing off issues with the prior or next team leader at the end of the shift to ensure continuity of operations. This may include completing daily checklists, line audits, and other process audits.
Ensuring compliance with all Abbott procedures, including all applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior knowledge and demonstrated understanding of GMP and how it applies to specific responsibilities and manufacturing operations.
Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing, inventory control methods, and computers.
Must be capable of reading and understanding documents in both English and Spanish.
Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or technical school in manufacturing or related field.
Computer knowledge in programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and SAP are preferred.
Understanding of operational excellence/lean principles and applications.
Comprehensive understanding of medical device manufacturing.
Previous lead experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

The base pay for this position is $20.05 - $40.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
