  • Production Associate - Mechanical Assembly/Final Assembly

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Associate to join our world class facility in Ottawa, On.

    As our Production Associate- Mechanical Assembly you will be responsible for assembly, inspection and repair processes involved in the manufacture of CWDS products. The successful candidate must be experienced in mechanical assembly, soldering experience would also be an asset.

    Your Challange

    • Operate equipment efficiently following defined work schedule from the area Supervisor & Production Control as well as following all Health & Safety guidelines.

    • Assembly of mechanical pieces on to the product as defined by drawings & BOMs.

    • Apply adhesives or under fill to product as required.

    • Provide recommendations for process changes and improvement.

    • Support yield improvements through Continuous Improvement Projects

    • As a means of keeping communication lines open between the two shifts, practice face to face shift exchanges on a daily basis

    • Attend the daily production tier meetings

    • Participate in the corporate Curtiss Wright Way Lean training program

    • Complete all logs, reports and other data as defined by the area Supervisor.

    • May contribute as a member of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety committee.

    • Responsible for all material handling duties, lifting daily supplies as required.

    • Willing to support 3 shift rotations as required.

    • Maintaining a workstation in regard to 6S principles.

    What you Bring:

    • Technician Diploma or grade 12 with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.

    • Knowledge of defect recognition for workmanship standards and requirements.

    • Experience within a PWB assembly or Box build environment.

    • Good working knowledge of SAP and personal computers.

    • Experience working with formal procedures and supporting documents.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    • A focused individual with demonstrated ability and experience within a low volume, high mix PWB assembly environment to minimize downtime and maximize output

    • Able to lift normal consumable supplies associated with the processes.

    • Mechanical aptitude with manual dexterity.

    • Familiar with mechanical drawings.

    • Experience with torque tools

    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changes in the build schedule is required.

    • Good working knowledge of an ERP system, SAP knowledge is a definite asset

    • Soldering experience also considered an asset

    • IPC certification would be an asset
