Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

Contractors will work in the production rooms handling tasks such as packaging products, stacking products on pallets, and labeling. They will ensure products on the pallets are aligned correctly, labels are accurate, and pallets are ready for shrink-wrapping. Accuracy is crucial to minimize shipping time. Tasks include packaging, quality checks on pallets, lifting, and operating a manual pallet jack. Training on pallet jack operation will be provided. Strong communication skills are necessary for handling paperwork. The work environment is a busy cooler at approximately 5 degrees Celsius.

Responsibilities

• Comfortable lifting 50 lbs.

• Palletize products based on labels and client needs

• Package the pallet to move into the shipping department

• Abide by proper Food Safety protocols prior to handling produce

• Label cases accurately

• Ensure pallets are properly stacked and wrapped as per customer specifications

• Separate and dispose of recyclable and non-recyclable packaging

• Dispose of non-salvageable product into provided bins and empty as required

Essential Skills

• Production experience

• Heavy lifting capability (up to 50 lbs.)

• Material handling

• General labor and general production skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Safe heavy lifting up to 35-50 lbs. consistently

• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with others on the line

• Student mindset with the ability to learn new tasks within the first three days of training and perform without supervision

• Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of products, accurate counting, and proper label application

Work Environment

The work environment is a cooler at approximately 5 degrees Celsius, where you will work closely with a team of about 30 people in small spaces. You will handle different produce such as oranges, melons, and grapes. The production room, located next to the warehouse, has four machines and six production tables, with a noise level of about 85 decibels. The shift is from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with flexible days and weekend work required. The dress code includes provided smocks, hairnets, beard nets, earplugs, and latex gloves. Long sleeve shirts are recommended, pants with no holes are required, and steel toe boots and a face mask must be worn. There is a blackout period on vacations from November to March.
