    Product Manager - Merchandising Operations, Retail Global Industry Unit

    Overview:

    The Oracle Retail Product Management team is a collection of top retail industry experts with deep retail expertise, strong solution knowledge and a solid background in product management. The team is responsible for driving requirements for Oracle Retail's suite of solutions. As a Product Manager, you will be focused on defining product functional specifications and must possess a product management mindset. You will be working together with our Strategy and Development teams to ensure alignment with our product roadmap, feature design/story writing, prioritization, communication, and documentation. You should be able to understand functional requirements and architect solutions while being very hands-on and able to dive deep into any part of the stack. You should be able to work comfortably in a collaborative, agile, and fast-paced environment.

    Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

    Day to day activities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with strategy and development to prioritize the release roadmap, functional specification, and/or story writing, interacting with customers and implementation partners (including occasionally giving product demonstrations), and ensure our products are accurately documented with the various consumers in mind.

    • Act as product owner for a set of Retail Merchandising applications, with a primary focus on Invoice Matching, Stock Ledger, General Ledger, Sales Audit, and Retail Pricing.

    • Research, understand and communicate the Merchandising competitive landscape. Work alongside product strategy counterparts to define requirements that address this competitive landscape.

    • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new and innovative products, services, and processes

    • Assist in the design of internal processes for optimizing our SaaS business over time

    • Own portfolio definition related to roadmap to detailed product requirements

    • Participate and help launch projects to prepare new cloud services for the market

    • Lead and influence product team to invest and iterate on the right product features

    • Engage with software development teams to define the technical deployment architecture for cloud services, based on the target market definition

    • Engage with product development teams to set the technology platform strategy - such as determining which server operating systems and versions to support, which versions of database and middleware to upgrade to, desktop/browser and mobile support strategy, etc.

    • Evaluate and prioritize any software enhancements or service offering modifications that help drive lower costs and thus higher margins

    • Closely collaborate with development teams to define, design, and adapt capabilities

    • Collaborate with product strategy and marketing on release, market positioning, and GTM training, as well as strategies and tactics to drive product adoption post-launch

    • Work closely with product strategy to launch and maximize adoption of new solution services and features

    • Present solution roadmap to internal audiences, customers, conference attendees, partners

    • Establish, track and report on metrics to measure the success of each service offering and release

    • Balance strategic imperatives with daily tactical needs

    • Work collaboratively with other product leads to deliver a connected retail solution to the market

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of software engineering and/or software product management experience preferred

    • 8+ years' experience working with or implementing retail merchandising tools

    • Strong preference for direct retail business experience in finance (general ledger, stock ledger, average costing, payables, receivables). Secondary expertise with retail pricing, markdowns, and promotions.

    • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical products and features into value-based, intuitive concepts and graphics

    • Ability to work in a non-routine and very complex environment, involving the application of advanced technical and business skills in area of retail planning

    • Comfortable leading a team of domain experts and working in a highly matrixed organization (leading through influence)

    • BS or MS degree or equivalent professional work experience relevant to functional area

    • Large organization/mature retail process experience is a requirement

    Responsibilities

    As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

    Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

    US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $159,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
