    The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe and professional IV therapy for patients on specialty medications that treat neurological, rheumatologic, gastroenterological, and immunological disorders. This role will be highly involved in helping to

    implementing

    and support best clinical practices for our clinic,

    patients,

    and referral sources.

    Job Duties

    • Provides direct patient care in the form of evaluating and documenting patient clinical assessments and IV therapy as aligned with company, federal and state policies for both pediatric and adult patients.

    • Prepares/compounds sterile admixtures for immediate use per FDA package insert and

      FlexCare

      clinical protocol.

    • Communicates with physicians and other health care providers on clinical services related issues.

    • Administers necessary medications as necessary to mitigate acute infusion reactions, under the supervision of the infusion center Managing Nurse Practitioner.

    • Administers prescribed intravenous and subcutaneous medications and biologics, adhering to prescriber order and applicable FDA dosing parameters.

    • Evaluates the effectiveness of the health care process (self, systems, environment, and instrumentation) in meeting clinical outcomes.

    • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and clinical operations functioning.

    • Provides infusion therapy under the scope of

      FlexCare

      policies, procedures and clinical drug protocols to ensure coordination and safe delivery of care.

    • Assists the clinical team in the entry, review and validation of prescriber orders received by faxed referral or verbal order.

    • Assists in the review of lab work drawn onsite, and the reporting of any critical values to the referring provider.

    • Assists in the ongoing review of clinical protocols for all infusible/injectables provided by

      FlexCare

      to

      maintain

      clinical competency.

    • Assures that all patient related documentation, and clinical reports are accurately completed, submitted and/or filed in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirements and in support of the billing process.

    • Participates in department Quality Assurance activities as requested.

    office setting. This role routinely uses standard office and medical equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, phones, copiers, infusion pumps, IVs, Etc.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is either a Full time, part time, or PRN position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00

    Required Minimum Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training

    Education:

    Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

    Experience:

    3+ years Infusion Therapy with experience in the management of patients on specialty medications (

    i.e

    , Immunoglobulin, biologics)

    ; s

    trong IV access skills

    Required Certifications:

    • Unrestricted RN license in the state of employment

    • BLS/ CPR required upon hire

    • ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration Certification, required within 90 days of hire for full time hires.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Experience:

    5+ years of Infusion therapy experience.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Unrestricted motor vehicle license

    Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little to no assistance.


    Compensation details: 45-47 Hourly Wage
