Shift Details:
Job Summary:
The School Principal will serve as the educational leader and responsible for managing the daily operations of the school, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring academic excellence for all students. The principal will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and the community to implement the school's vision and mission, promote high standards of instruction, and develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Leadership:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the school that aligns with district goals and priorities.
Promote a culture of high expectations for student achievement and staff performance.
Utilize data to inform decision-making and drive instructional improvement.
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, and evaluate faculty and staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to teachers through observations, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Facilitate a collaborative and inclusive school culture that values diversity and promotes equity.
Student Support:
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
Collaborate with counselors, special education staff, and community resources to support students' well-being.
Implement programs and initiatives that promote positive behavior and student engagement.
Curriculum and Instruction:
Oversee the development and implementation of a rigorous and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
Encourage innovative teaching practices and the integration of technology in the classroom.
Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform instructional practices and interventions.
Community Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with parents, community members, and local organizations to support student success.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders through newsletters, meetings, and events to keep them informed and engaged.
Represent the school in district meetings, community events, and other forums.
Administrative Duties:
Manage the school's budget, resources, and facilities to ensure effective operations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
Prepare reports and documentation as required by the district and other governing bodies.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Valid D.C. Principal Certification or eligibility for certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 3] years of experience in educational leadership or administration, preferably in a K-12 school setting.
Proven track record of improving student achievement and fostering a positive school culture.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of educational best practices, curriculum development, and instructional strategies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze data and utilize it to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
