  • Title: Principal UX Strategist

    Overview of Position

    You have a strong desire to innovate and enjoy collaborating with internal and external experts to craft the best experiences possible. You are interested in healthcare and inspired by the rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence, NLP, and the cloud and want to drive how this positively impacts patients and staff in the healthcare space, specifically within the enterprise Imaging domain.

    You will lead UX design projects with multiple cross-functional teams to inform, test, and execute digital designs for web-based, enterprise network, and/or mobile applications based on business needs and opportunities for existing and new products. You have extensive experience in using rapid prototyping and user testing in combination to ensure both high efficiency and high customer-relevant value in the final product.

    You will be responsible for providing vision and judgment across the business and will be accountable for driving a cohesive customer experience throughout our products. You are talented and love doing detailed strategic work and are also interested in providing support, guidance, and mentoring to a group of amazing designers, researchers, and product specialists who are located remotely in the US and Canada.

    What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

    • Collaborate with UX Research during early discovery research, and user experience and usability testing to participate in Design Thinking and Empathy Interviewing with target users and work to interpret research results into effective designs and interaction patterns.
    • Create functional prototypes, static mockups as well as textual specifications that describe in as much detail and fidelity as possible the intended user-observable behavior of the final product.
    • Act independently to work with technology resources and managers in productive discussions and negotiations to achieve the desired result when it comes to the visualization and interaction of design to support key user needs and workflows.
    • Analyze and solve problems logically and abstract key components and concepts without losing focus on tactical details; solicit feedback as to the usefulness of visual designs, functional prototypes, and static mockups by various internal teams and adjust approach and format accordingly over time; balance goals and objectives with timely delivery of a project.
    • Contribute to the future state design roadmap that outlines current and future site functionality, end-to-end journey maps, and design to provide vision and direction beyond single projects or programs; act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments; influence, inspire, and motivate the UX team; build-out design processes, tools, and culture; may supervise the activities of others

    What are the requirements needed for this position?

    • A Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of hands-on experience, or commensurate experience, in UX Design, Product Engineering, Interactive Design, Human-Centered Design, Information Science, or related field.
    • A strong command in the utilization of graphical and interactive software tools to visualize workflows, present screen designs, and create interactive prototypes. 
    • Superior creativity and adaptability and unwavering interest in promoting high-quality and well-informed design.
    • Strong graphic design background with a design bias toward simplicity, elegance, and minimalism found in the best modern applications.
    • Active interest in applying rapid prototyping and validating with users via usability testing.

    What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

    • Organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple and complex projects on time and within budget.
    • Active learner and teacher, seeking to expand and share knowledge and experience in UX/UI design and research, as to best support the evolving needs of the team and Change Healthcare.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to tailor messaging to the audience so that an appropriate level of understanding is conveyed.
    • Able to work on different design sprints at the same time
    • Highly organized
    • Eager to learn - Willing to immerse oneself in the world of Radiology and Imaging information systems
    • Highly accountable
    • Experience working on medical software applications
    • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
    • Experience in designing data-driven SaaS systems
