Principal Synthetic Chemistry Scientist

Regeneron is looking for a Principal Scientist, New Modalities at the IOPS (Industrial Operations Product Supply) location. In this role, the Scientist will be a key member of multidisciplinary teams comprised of synthetic chemists, analytical chemists, chemical engineers, and external research partners.

As a Principal Scientist, New Modalities, a typical day might include the following:

• Focus on synthetic chemistry relevant programs (e.g. siRNA, antibody conjugates, etc.)

• Support of cell and gene therapy programs (e.g. AAV, allogeneic/autologous CART, virus-like particles, etc.), as needed.

• Delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients to support pre-clinical and clinical studies and commercialization activities.

• Conduct scientific studies to optimize synthetic processes for the preparation of human health products.

• Characterization, improvement, and investigation of synthetic processes in preparation for commercial manufacture and regulatory filings.

• Direct and indirect collaboration with both the academic community, and process/analytical development organizations in Tarrytown NY.

• Developing emerging talent through strong mentoring and communication skills.

This role might be for you if you

• Have subject matter expertise in synthetic process development as a synthetic chemist, analytical chemist, or chemical engineer, with experience in commercial process development, process characterization and GMP investigations.

• Have an established reputation for scientific excellence and innovation supported by publications and external presentations.

• Have excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Are open minded, flexible, and can communicate well across all levels of the business.

• Are able to balance multiple projects and priorities.

To be considered for this position you must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical sciences, and drug discovery or drug development experience.

Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.

• Principal Scientist New Modalities: 2+ years of relevant experience.

• Staff Scientist New Modalities: 5+ years of relevant experience.
