    The Mission Critical Oracle Database Product Management team seeks a high-energy, experienced professional interested in working with like-minded people on high availability (HA), scalability, disaster recovery, continuous availability, and related topics on-premises and in the multicloud.

    The team comprises a group of top-quality, high-energy, and highly experienced professionals who handle the product management responsibilities for all the availability, data protection, and scalability aspects of the Oracle Database, the Oracle Database Cloud Services, and the continuous availability of applications. Database products and functionalities that the team is directly responsible for include Data Guard, Active Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and Oracle Clusterware, as well as the HA interactions with Oracle Applications and Oracle Fusion Middleware. The team also manages all HA aspects of deploying Oracle Databases in the cloud. For more details, see: ~~~ . Being a part of this team will allow you to significantly contribute to the success of the Oracle Database (on-premises and in the multicloud), guide how it is consumed, and provide you with a high degree of internal and external visibility.

    Job Description

    In this role, you will work with an elite group of software developers and product managers to assist with current initiatives around developing and marketing Oracle's next-generation high availability capabilities for the Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and the Oracle Database Cloud Service. In particular, you will be responsible for all product management aspects, enabling continuous availability with Oracle Database when using Oracle Database@Azure, Oracle Database@Google, and Oracle Database@AWS. You may also be expected to take complete product management ownership on selected areas and products to be released in the future. This role involves both inbound and outbound product management responsibilities.

    Specific duties of this position include but are not limited to the following

    • Gather and validate input related to high availability, data protection, and customer usage patterns from Oracle customers, Oracle Support, Sales, and Sales Consulting, and write documents to help guide development.

    • Drive the development and launch of Oracle systems and cloud services that integrate high-performance software in an optimized hardware and cloud configuration to solve challenging problems related to continuous while making sure that the product functionality being built is consistent with customer expectations and helps to establish significant market leadership for Oracle compared to competing products.

    • Develop collateral such as technical and business white papers, success stories, data sheets, brochures, best practices, and product presentations for Oracle's HA technology and publish those on internal and external websites.

    • Maintain deep relationships with key customers. As the development advocate/sponsor for these customers, ensure their continued success with Oracle's products and cultivate the connection to develop effective references.

    • Evangelize Oracle's availability and data protection features and help promote them by presenting at trade shows, customer sites, industry conferences, industry analyst meetings, and the Oracle Customer Visit Center.

    Responsibilities

    Typical product management activities include working closely with customers and engineering to define product strategy and functionality, managing ongoing strategic relationships with top-tier customers and being the customer advocate within the development organization, developing marketing plans and collateral, providing field support, performing competitive analyses, evangelizing and speaking at key conferences, etc.

    Job Requirements

    1. BS / MS in Computer Science or related technical degree required; MBA desirable

    2. Excellent written, communication/presentation, analytical, time management, and teamwork skills

    3. Six or more years of engineering/product management experience, preferably in enterprise computing, and a solid familiarity with cloud, applications using highly available databases, reliability, and business continuity

    4. A balanced mix of applications and database administration skills, along with relevant cloud experience

    5. Experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of IT audiences, ranging from CTO/CIO to database, systems, network, and storage administrators

    6. Awareness of trends and opportunities in enterprise computing that potentially influence Oracle's business

    7. Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to effectively deal with various internal groups and external customers in high-intensity situations - as well as a can-do attitude with a focus on deliverables and deadlines

    The preferred location for this role is out of the Oracle offices in Redwood Shores, California, USA; alternative US locations and selected countries outside of the US can be considered. The job involves US-domestic and international travel on an as-needed basis.

    Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

    US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $159,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
