    Position Specific Description

    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Principal Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing cloud-native applications, configuring cloud services, particularly in AWS, and providing production support. They should be proficient in Java and Python and possess full-stack development capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications.

    • Install, configure, and maintain various applications on cloud platforms.

    • Configure and manage cloud services, with a focus on AWS.

    • Develop and maintain applications using Java and Python.

    • Provide full-stack development expertise, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems.

    • Offer production support to ensure application reliability, availability, and performance.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Proven experience in developing cloud-native applications.

    • Strong skills in the installation and configuration of various applications on cloud platforms.

    • Extensive experience in configuring cloud services, especially within AWS environments.

    • Proficient in development with Java 9 and above, and Python 3.9 and above.

    • Full-stack development experience, including front-end and back-end systems.

    • Strong experience in developing applications with one or more of the following relational databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

    • Experience with Spring frameworks: Spring Cloud Function, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data (JPA/CRUD).

    • Database skills including PL SQL (database functions, stored procedures).

    • Proficient in containerization with Docker.

    • UI development skills with React JS with TypeScript and Fluent UI.

    • Experience with build tools such as Maven and Gradle.

    • Source control and CI/CD expertise with Git and GitHub Actions.

    • Familiarity with DevOps tools: CDK and CloudFormation.

    • Experience providing production support for cloud-based applications.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms.

    • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

    • Knowledge of microservices architecture.

    This position assesses, designs, develops, integrates and troubleshoots technology to support business processes. Employees provide technical or functional guidance to project or work teams, as needed within specific or multiple disciplines. This position is accountable for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems, as well as ensuring that excellent technical support services are provided.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes, and enhances existing or new systems

    • Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology to manage development activities

    • Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

    • Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction

    • Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered

    • Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

    • Designs, develops, and tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames

    • Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

    • Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required

    • Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Grad / GED

    • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

    • Experience: 6+ years
