  • Eaton's Electrical Engineering and Services Division is hiring a Power Systems Engineering Specialist (Expert) to join our team. This position can be based out of the following Eaton Canada locations and offers a hybrid working schedule: Milton, ON, Mississauga, ON, Kitchener, ON, Ottawa, ON, Delta, BC, Edmonton, AB, or Calgary, AB.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $96,579 - $141,649 a year.

    What you'll do:

    The primary purpose of this position is to provide power systems expertise and applied engineering. The subject matter expert will provide technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, substation design and training.

    Additionally:

    • Manage assigned projects and job costs to perform work within budgeted cost estimates Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers

    • Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.

    • Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers

    • Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency

    • Ability to run major studies and projects unassisted

    • Mentor other engineers, as applicable

    Qualifications:

    Basic (Required) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university

    • P.Eng. License (current and active)

    • Eight (8) or more years of work experience in Power Systems Design (Distribution Systems, Substation, and Protection & Control)

    • Previous working experience using design tools such as SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME or similar

    • Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship

    • Currently located within 100 km of the posted working locations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor Degree focused on electrical power systems

    • Advanced experience in multi-function protection relay setting files and logic

    • Experience in the following areas: short-circuit analysis, LV/MV coordination, arc flash studies, harmonic analysis, and mitigations

    • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, power quality measurements, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems (highly desirable)

    • Experience with design for energy transition projects
