    Kimley-Horn's Twin Cities office is seeking a Power Studies Engineer with 4+years experienceto join their Electrical team.With a focus on serving clients within thepower delivery andrenewable energy sectors, the Power Studies Engineer will act as a technical expert in thedesign, analysis,and optimization of electrical power systems. This is not a remote position.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the power electrical teamtoanalyze systems, createsoftwaremodels, andwritereports forpower delivery or generation projects

    • Assistwith project design, specifications, and planssupport

    • Review workwith quality in mindtoconfirmcompliance withKimley-Hornqualitystandards

    • Studies performed may include (per candidateexperience):

    • Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies using ETAP or SKM

    • Load Flow / Reactive Power Analysis

    • Thermal Ampacity studies using software likeAmpCalcorCYMCAP

    • Grounding studies usingWinIGS,CDEGS,or SKM Ground Mat

    • Transient studies usingPSS/E, PSCAD, or PSLF

    • Harmonicstudies using ETAP or transient software

    • Relaysetting development using SELAcSELerator

    • Partner withthe electrical team to createcalculationsanddrawingsfor power delivery and/or renewable energy projects

    • Continually gainknowledgein industry

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years' experience as an Electrical Engineer for an engineering firm or EPC

    • 1+ years' project management experience

    • EIT certification or path to move towards certification ispreferred

    • CYMCAP,SKM, ETAP, EMTP-RV, PSS/E, PSCAD,WinIGS,or CDEGSexperiencepreferred

    • Understandingor willing to learn, the NEC 2020 and IEEE standards and keep up with emergingtechnologies

    • General understanding of engineering and energy systems

    • Load Flow,Coordination, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash studies basic theory andmethodology

    • Proficiencyusing Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office

    • Ability to work and manage several project teamsconcurrently

    • The ability to work independently or in a team environmenteffectively

    • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challengingenvironment
