LeSuuer is home to a historic downtown, variety of housing, great school district, fishing, apple orchard and friendly community Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position will oversee the Le Sueur Farm operations. This includes directs and manages all farm operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities This position always has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability. Qualifications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs the Farm operations, maximizing resources to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. Supervises employees by training, developing, assigning duties, disciplining, hiring, and terminating personnel. Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, making sure that the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Ensures that Company policies are applied in a fair and consistent manner. Oversees the maintenance of equipment and facilities, ensuring that the appropriate systems for scheduling maintenance, and ordering parts and supplies are in place. Gathers daily production data for record keeping purposes and analysis. Develops reports and charts as appropriate. Ensures that the health of birds is monitored and takes corrective action when needed, as directed by and or in conjunction with the company veterinarian. Recognizes capital project needs, coordinates capital project requests, and oversees implementation. Recognizes potential areas to add value to the company. Provides a safe work environment for employees. Coordinates service crews to ensure work done is timely and of acceptable quality. Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations. Encourages suggestions from subordinates which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs. Communicates with upper and senior management to discuss issues pertaining to the farm operation Keeps Operations Manager informed on operating and/or employee problems which may require their attention or knowledge. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that Perform other duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining a high level of safety awareness. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Strong organizational and mechanical skills Computer skills required, including MS Excel and Word, SAP or inventory control software experience preferred. The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass the forklift certification. Ability to work in a very dusty environment. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Must have good mechanical ability.
