    • Performs skilled new plumbing installation and extension, replacement, alteration, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, drainage and sewage disposal systems including, but not limited to water supply/distribution pipes, drainage and vent pipes and building drains, fittings, hydrants, valves and plumbing and heating fixtures and traps according to specifications in the State Plumbing Code.

    • Direct and inspect the work of other building maintenance personnel to include, but not limited to trades and non-trades workers, seasonal laborers, and student workers as well as work of contractor employees and/or licensed plumbers and unlicensed individual plumber work registrants.

    • Perform or assist in all other building trades and non-trades functions related to building construction or remodeling and maintaining the integrity and maintenance of all building structures, building systems, and building sites.This includes, but is not limited to heating/air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, etc.

    • Prepare cost estimates for time, labor and material for plumbing and other building related projects.Prepare and review plans, blueprints, specs for building related projects.

    • Maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties and record keeping required for all current and future computerized building related programs.Current programs include preventative maintenance, work orders, building automation, security systems, cardkey access and fuel tank/fuel dispensing systems.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A valid Master Plumber License issued by Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.

    • Valid Class D Driver's License.

    Ability to obtain and maintain:

    • Unlicensed Electrician License within six months of appointment

    • Specials Class Boiler Engineer's License within 24 months of appointment

    • RPZ testing and rebuilding certification within 24 months of appointment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with construction plans, blueprints and electrical specification sufficient to interpret, modify and follow them to complete plumbing projects.

    • Knowledge of energy management systems, HVAC systems, preventative maintenance program, and building application program/database.

    • Knowledge and application of math to do basic algebra, geometry, area and volume computations.

    • Experience with Windows based operating systems, email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.

    • Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information.

    • Experience with conflict resolution, problem solving, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

    • Experience with building construction, remodeling or other building trades.

    • Experience as a lead worker.

    Physical Requirements

    Pre-Employment Physical Exam: A pre-placement physical examination is required for this position. Current employees who have successfully bid or are moving into specific job classifications will be required to complete the pre-employment physical exam.
