Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PLM Analyst to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in a specialized industry, focusing on outsourced testing methods for multiple standardized procedures governed by EPA regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct asbestos analysis with quick turnaround times within a highly regulated environment.

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples of air and bulk material using polarized light microscopy (PLM) and phase contrast microscopy (PCM).

• Deliver accurate results to the appropriate LIMS System.

• Assist with clerical and lab duties as needed.

• Perform QA/QC practices per company policy to ensure all employees are regularly calibrated, as tests are very subjective.

• May be cross-trained in multiple areas, with the main purpose of the position being to relieve high volumes of samples.

Essential Skills

• Experience in biology, geology, and microscopy.

• Familiarity with asbestos analysis.

• Previous lab experience (1-3 years), which can include academia.

• AS/BS in Geology or Biology preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in using microscopes.

• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a highly regulated environment.

• Strong clerical skills.

Work Environment

The position is located in a small, yet recently renovated lab. The lab has custom-built hoods and there are currently 9 PLM Analysts working closely together. Interaction with other analysts is frequent due to the need for QC samples, ensuring continuous calibration requirements. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with the possibility of longer hours due to the high volume of samples, currently around 3000 daily.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $50000.00

EVP: Great benefits. The candidate will only have to pay $30 pay period for medical, and then company will pay 100% for vision/dental as well as 100% short/long term disability and a small life insurance policy. They have a stock bonus program and receive monthly profit sharing after 3 months. Profit sharing can range from $0 up to 4 figures additional each month. After 1 year, will qualify for 401k, company matches 100% up to 3%. Relo package available (lump sum) and amount is based on individual candidate. Also, they are a smaller company but growing and could have opportunity for career advancement down the line.
