  • Description We are offering an opportunity for a Deployment Engineer in the automotive industry, based in Houston, Texas. The role is vital in supporting and providing solutions that contribute to the success of daily business operations within our cloud and on-prem environments. The position involves deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining platform resources, and requires an active partnership in working with the business to provide value through technology.

    Responsibilities

    • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications including application servers, associated hardware or endpoints, and databases.

    • Install and configure software as required.

    • Perform system maintenance, monitor system activity, gather system statistics, follow up on reported errors and alarms.

    • Provide after-hours on-call support for production emergencies and escalating issues.

    • Analyze systems proactively for root causes of issues and assess existing and new use case configurations.

    • Maintain and improve all application and database monitoring.

    • Analyze system performance and capacity regularly; recommend systems upgrades and hardening as appropriate.

    • Document all issues and resolution steps using the help desk ticketing system.

    • Provide technical mentorship to team members by sharing subject matter expertise.

    • Maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.

    • Work on cross-functional projects with other IT groups and oversee work with outside vendors and other business units as needed. Requirements - Proficient in Amazon EC2, Ansible, Cloud Technologies, Automation, AWS Technologies, Configuration Management, Continuous Integration (CI)

    • Experience in the automotive industry

    • Strong understanding of deployment methodologies and principles

    • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving in deployment processes

    • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Proven track record of meeting project timelines and deliverables

    • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies

    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience

    • Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies would be advantageous. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
