Plant Controller -Confidential role

Description

Plant Controller with strong bonus program and salary as well as benefits based in Melrose Park Illinois. As a Plant Controller, you will lead an accounting team, oversee daily operations of the accounting department, and ensure all financial aspects of the manufacturing site are managed and reported accurately. You will also serve as a business partner to the local management team and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department.

Responsibilities

• Train and provide regular feedback to the accounting staff to ensure effective operation of the department.

• Manage and report on all financial aspects of the manufacturing site, working closely with a team of cost accountants and other clerical accounts payable/receivable staff.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP in the routine daily operations of the Accounting Department.

• Oversee the completion and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger.

• Develop annual financial plans and periodic forecasts, reporting results accordingly.

• Continually improve finance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain a strong internal control environment.

• Communicate financial results to the operations team, highlighting areas of concern and reasons for discrepancies in expected outcomes.

• Review and approve all payments to vendors and assist with treasury management.

• Oversee the annual external audit process.

• Support capital equipment requests and track expenditures.

• Review and approve payroll and sales commissions in line with company requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in accounting or finance

Plant Controller or Assistant Controller experience

Supervisory skills

7 plus years of experience

Manufacturing accounting experience
