    Overall Job Summary

    This position is responsible for developing and designing accurate interior, exterior, fixture, and merchandise layouts for new, relocation, and remodel stores that are compliant with local, state, and federal laws as well as maintain existing store layouts. The Store Planner will work with architects, general contractors, internal construction, real estate, and merchandising professionals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

    • Accountable for development of any new store & merchandising prototypes and maintain a working knowledge of Merchandising and Operational standards in order to continuously improve the design of stores

    • Manage all prototypes, create and document seasonal layouts, and manage special projects for large test programs, test departments, or new merchandising rollouts which may include development of store specific layouts.

    • Manage layouts on a monthly basis to ensure alignment with most current fixture, merchandising, and adjacency direction for select stores. Communicate this direction to stores for execution of direction.

    • Collaborate with real estate and architects as requested to review facilities prior to leases being signed to ensure they meet standards that will allow the store to function efficiently and be merchandised to current standards

    • Create and maintain all space and merchandising layouts, to ensure maximum use of space and close adherence to the continuously evolving store concepts

    • Work with Space Planners to modify fixture, space, and merchandising plans, as defined by plan-o-gram assignments for various markets across the company, to accurately reflect products to be replenished

    • Evaluate floor plan opportunities, challenges and product mix parameters for each store location, develop a final interior and exterior layout for new stores, relocation stores, and remodels that will be used by architects, general contractors, internal construction, real estate professionals, and Set Up Team Leads to achieve Tractor Supply's desired results

    • Responsible for monitoring construction and real estate schedules, tracking of print production, adjusting print development, prioritizing and implementing modifications, and ensures final distribution both electronically and hard copy to all internal and external parties (including outside consultants) and corresponds with timing required for all parties to complete their tasks for each store

    • Local and national travel required to capture and develop building and facility schematics, work with general contractors and construction professionals on site, document ADA compliance, fixture information, and more. Laptop provided for these and other job requirements

    • Create, document and communicate specific fixturing needs on an individual store basis. Balance financial consideration against actual store requirements to best meet the needs of the store in achieving current merchandising standards

    • Create, document and utilize specific AutoCad attributes relating to fixtures and planograms for use in store specific fixture orders

    • Accountable for maintaining all site specific facility metrics within the Space Management System's data warehouse

    • Act as primary representative to assist architects, general contractors, sub-contractors, internal construction, real estate professionals, as well as new Store Set Up Team Leads with resolving any store layout questions or issues

    • Responsible for field support functions including assisting store team members in plan-o-gram layout issues in all existing stores, based upon evaluation of product mix parameters, store consistency, and work flow

    • Accountable for completing any special projects as assigned, such as layouts for Spring, Fall, Leader's Meeting, Special Merchandising Initiatives, and any other Special Projects

    Required Qualifications

    Experience: 3 years related experience. Minimum of 1 year experience in an Auto Cad, new store set-up, retail management, or a plan-o-gram implementation/design environment with proficiency in Auto Cad, Intactix Floor Planning, MS Office, is preferred; General knowledge of ADA Federal regulations and international building codes, as well as knowledge of AIA layering standards.

    Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, or equivalent work experience. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

    • Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings with exposure to basic construction methods
