  • Job Summary

    Geisinger is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine trained physician for a Medical Director for our Skilled Nursing Program in northeast Pennsylvania.

    Job Duties

    The skilled nursing facility-based physician is a Geisinger employee, working in a non-Geisinger facility. The physician will collaborate with Geisinger advanced practitioners and facility staff to ensure patients are appropriately managed in the sub-acute and/or long-term care setting. The physician provides direct (hands-on) care, with a goal to improve quality and prevent unnecessary re-admissions to the acute care setting. The locations include: Embassy of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre, Embassy of Scranton, Scranton, and Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Scranton, PA.

    • Base salary starting at $320k

    • Residency/Fellow stipend - up to $45k available

    • Up to $250k recruitment incentives

    • Continuing medical education - 15 working days and $4,500 CME funds

    • Fully paid relocation

    • 401k - Geisinger annually contributes over $15k

    • Academic involvement with medical students and residents
