Responsibilities

This is a busy, outpatient primary care practice that sees patients of all ages from pediatrics through and including geriatrics.

Position Highlights:

• There are two experienced Primary Care physicians and one Physician Assistant.

• This is a growing practice that is looking to add a full-time Family Medicine physician and a full-time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to increase patient access to high-quality health care.

• The practice is open and offers: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m.- 12 noon, Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and scheduled visits, virtual visits and some walk-in appointments when schedules permit.

• There is one Practice Manager along with dedicated Medical Assistants and Receptionists. Most of the support staff have been with the practice for a number of years.

• On-site ancillaries include EKG, lab services, PT, OT, and Diagnostic Imaging (CT scan, x-ray and mammography) making it convenient for patients to receive additional care and testing.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.

• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.

• Participate in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.

• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

• This is a patient centric practice interested in speaking with candidates who work well together in a team environment and prioritize giving excellent care for their patients.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications :

• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine program

• Board Certified Family Medicine

• Willingness to be flexible and work well as an integral member of the health care team

• 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience as a primary care physician preferred, but is

willing to consider and help mentor a new Family Medicine graduate
