    $52,500-$67,000

    Shift (Full-Time)

    Monday-Friday: 7:30am to 4pm

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.

    • NY State PT license or in process of obtaining.

    • 6 months of experience - New Grads are welcome to apply.

    • Experience working with patients with developmental disabilities or similar.

    Job Summary

    • Develops effective clinical programs tailored to meet the physical therapy needs of students as specified in their Individual Education Plans (IEP), delivered through individual or group sessions based on IEP requirements.

    • Provides ongoing consultation, training, and support to classroom staff to ensure effective implementation of therapeutic programs.

    • Collaborates with team members to assess and create specialized feeding programs aimed at enhancing oral motor skills.

    • Attends various discipline-related meetings and in-services, including team meetings, department meetings, program meetings, and staff development days.

    • Works closely with parents to establish appropriate home programs that support therapy goals.

    • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and implement individual goals and recommendations for each student.

    • Designs and/or acquires adaptive positioning systems to ensure proper alignment and promote independent movement (e.g., wheelchairs, standers).

    • Engages in the design and/or modification of adaptive equipment or devices to enhance accessibility (e.g., utensils, switches).

    • Ensures written documentation is maintained in compliance with departmental and agency regulations.

    • Has an understanding of the psychological, social, and medical characteristics of the populations served by the agency.
