    Major Responsibilities
    • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluation and direction our physical therapy service as well as it programs and activities as direct.
    • Assist in interpreting physical therapy policies and procedures to personnel residents, family members, etc. as necessary.
    • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessment.
    • Initiate individual restorative program for residents in conjunction with the residents' plan of care.
    • Brief resident of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment.
    • Reassure resident before and during therapy treatment.
    • Be alert to resident's response to treatment. Notify therapist immediately for assistance if required.
    • Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed.
    • Demonstrate to resident and nursing personnel, as necessary, the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy. (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic)
    • Create an environment and a culture that enables the facility to fulfill its mission.
    • Must document changes and follow up on condition.
    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Graduate of School of Physical Therapy Assistant

    • Experience:

    • Minimum of three months recent experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant working in a nursing home environment preferred.

    • Licenses/Certifications:

    • State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License
    • CPR Certification
