  • Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

    Job Description

    As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be integral in ensuring the health and well-being of patients in long-term care settings. Your responsibilities will include filling and compounding medications, including ointments, managing communication with nursing staff to confirm dosages, and accurately labeling prescriptions. You will adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures while servicing approximately 1000 beds. This role is vital in both daily and cycle fill operations, where daily fill involves preparing medications to be shipped out on the same day, and cycle fill involves preparing medications that last for 30+ days.

    Hard Skills

    • Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)

    • Experience in medication filling and compounding

    • Knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures

    Soft Skills

    • Strong communication skills

    • Ability to stand for long periods

    • Adaptability to rotating shifts

    Work Environment

    This is a production environment in a long term care pharmacy, not retail. The setting is casual, and the technician will need to stand for extended periods. Shifts rotate weekly between 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5:30pm, and 10:30am-7pm from Monday to Friday, with every third weekend required.
