Pharmaceutical Packaging Mechanic

Pay Rate: $30-$32/hour | Mississauga, ON

My client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Packaging Mechanic to join their team!

Job Description

Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on the machinery in the packaging department.

Will be setting up machinery, ensuring they are running smoothly, and conducting basic maintenance.

These machines could include: tablet fillers, blister pack machines, vision systems, labelers, ink jet printers, and over-wrappers.

• Attend hands-off meetings to debrief the next shift's mechanics on completed and pending tasks.

• Perform setups and changeovers according to the production schedule.

• Respond to real-time breakdowns using troubleshooting to diagnose root causes.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.

• Participate in end-of-shift hands-off meetings.

Must Have Skills

• 2-3 years of experience as a packaging mechanic.

• Experience with setup, PLC, Omron, and troubleshooting.

• Electromechanical knowledge.

• GMP experience in a packaging department.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify root causes of breakdowns.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician/Packaging Mechanic.

• Experience working with shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains, and gearboxes.
