    Position Summary

    The Pediatric Orthopedics Surgery Department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced, Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their team as we continue our efforts to offer comprehensive orthopedic care so children have the opportunity to continue progressing, regardless of injury or surgical condition.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions

    • Inpatient management and rounds with Surgeons.

    • Act as first or second assist in Operating room. Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement and dressing.

    • Perioperative care coordination and patient education to enhance the care of the pediatric orthopedic patient.

    • Evaluate orthopedic Consults within Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital.

    • Outpatient clinic responsibilities including specialty clinics, satellite clinic opportunities, post-operative and trauma follow-ups, and acute care visits.

    • Possible night or weekend call responsibilities if the service requires.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Training

    • Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatrics preferred, preferably a surgical specialty.

    Licensure/Certification

    • Certified as a Pediatric Primary Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; or certified as Physician Assistant.

    • Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

    • Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.

    Experience

    • Two years of pediatric or general surgery experience desired.

    • Neurosurgical, Trauma or Orthopedics experience is a plus but not required.
    • Surgery, Critical Care, Trauma, or ED Fellowship trained APP desired.
