Job Description

As a PDU Testing Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and special tests on products such as transformers, power metering products, distribution units, and other integrated systems. You will follow blueprints and schematics, interpret standard documentation for custom appliances, and adhere to all ISO 9001 policies and procedures. Additionally, you will be involved in testing instrumentation and fixtures, conducting heat run tests, prototype verification, and providing test certificates for each unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special tests on products including transformers, power metering products, distribution units, and other integrated systems.

• Follow blueprints and schematics accurately.

• Interpret standard documentation and apply it to custom appliances.

• Adhere to all ISO 9001 policies and procedures.

• Test instrumentation and test fixtures.

• Conduct heat run tests.

• Prototype verification.

• Provide a test certificate for each unit.

Essential Skills

• Electrical assembly and wiring expertise.

• Proficiency with electronics, schematics, and blueprints.

• 3+ years of experience with power distribution units.

• Experience working with power electronics.

• Experience in troubleshooting and testing.

• Sub Feed Breaker and metering experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical diploma from a community college or equivalent is a strong asset.

• Experience as a switchgear test technician.

Work Environment

You will work in a large warehouse with an enclosed testing area for PDUs. The facility has good lighting, though it can be a bit dusty. You will primarily work independently, although another tester is usually present in the testing area. Comfortable working in close quarters and in teams is necessary. The shifts available are Day Shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM and Afternoon Shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, Ontario.
