  • Description We are seeking a Payroll Supervisor/Manager to join our team in the government sector, located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll compliance, maintaining professional and technical knowledge, and supervising payroll technicians. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing the chance to contribute to our team's efficiency and accuracy in payroll and credit management.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying up-to-date with existing and new legislation

    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks

    • Supervise, monitor, assist, train, and evaluate payroll technicians

    • Process bi-weekly, monthly, and off-cycle employee payroll payments accurately and timely

    • Calculate and deduct appropriate amounts from payroll checks

    • Verify all overtime hours with the appropriate management personnel prior to issuing payroll checks

    • Maintain general ledger regarding payroll transactions

    • Oversee internal payroll and accounting audits on a semi-annual basis

    • Provide payroll support to departments by answering questions and requests about payroll processes

    • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports

    • Assist with the annual budget process for payroll. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

    • Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

    • Familiarity with Ceridian and Dayforce platforms

    • Knowledge of Benefit Functions related to payroll

    • Demonstrated understanding of Compliance in payroll operations

    • Ability to manage Full Cycle Payroll

    • Experience with HRIS Payroll System

    • Proven skills in Payroll management for organizations with 101-500 employees and over 500 employees

    • Familiarity with Payroll - Garnishments

    • Experience with various Payroll Functions

    • Understanding of Payroll Law and Payroll Taxes

    • Capability to Process Payroll effectively and efficiently

    • Ability to Reconcile Payroll

    • Experience with Oracle platform
