    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls using HRIS and ADP/Payroll systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for entering pay changes, validating benefit deductions, ensuring compliance with garnishment and tax changes, and providing support for payroll-related queries and issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Own weekly and bi-weekly payrolls using relevant HRIS and ADP/Payroll systems.

    • Enter pay changes during compensation cycles and ongoing activities such as new hires and separations. Provide variable pay and additional earnings data to ADP for processing and audit for accuracy.

    • Work between systems to enter and validate 401(K) changes.

    • Validate benefit deductions and changes during the year and open enrollment.

    • Ensure garnishment and tax changes are uploaded in ADP Smart Compliance.

    • Complete and respond to employment verification, garnishment, and unemployment state queries.

    • Provide support for occasional registration in new states.

    • Respond to unique staff questions related to payroll and benefits and process changes in a timely manner.

    • Reinforce the use of the employee portal for routine questions.

    • Research and resolve problems associated with payroll, tax, and benefits.

    • Provide support to Accounting on general ledger-related payroll transactions.

    • Perform annual year-end reporting as needed.

    • Audit ADP/payroll system to ensure correct changes, especially for the new calendar year.

    • Enter occasional vacation and PTO adjustments.

    • Reinforce and support self-service benefits enrollment for new hires and changes for existing employees.

    • Work with appropriate partners to research and resolve benefit-related issues.

    • Provide data from HRIS/ADP for quarterly New York Paid Family Leave billing.

    • Provide data from HRIS/ADP to complete workers' compensation and leave forms.

    • Support necessary communication to administer these programs.

    • Assist in the annual open enrollment process and support deduction change process in ADP/HRIS.

    • Audit benefit changes following open enrollment and resolve issues.

    • Audit HSA and 401K goal maximums, catch-up limits, and employer match limits in ADP/HRIS prior to the new plan year and as needed.

    Essential Skills

    • 3+ years of payroll processing experience.

    • Experience with Paycor or ADP system (preferred).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Accounting degree (associate or bachelor's) is nice to have.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in Wayzata, with work-from-home flexibility as needed. The role will involve working in a relaxed environment with initial months dedicated to learning and observation. The company processes payroll for 19 states, including weekly processing for hourly employees in NY and bi-weekly for full-time employees

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.65
